This script has been trimed from the original to be performed in approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Obviously, there were casualties (no Apothecary at all and Mercutio is practically a soul of brevity). Another, more deliberate, choice was the removal of all references to fate, fortune and chance.
This cutting presents a Romeo and a Juliet who are in love with all that youthful passion that fourteen and fifteen year olds can muster, which their decrepit, 32 year old parents have forgotten about.
In Process: The first scenes of the play are now available for review and comment. please do not print, copy or in any way reproduce this working draft of the script (the final version will be available as a PDF file).
